Last Tuesday evening, July 10, 2012, former Alaska representative Cheryll Heinze, was one of five people involved in a small plane accident. Heinze was the only one that died.
The small plane that Heinze was on had crashed when trying to land. The plane was meant for sightseeing and even had floats for going atop water. However, nothing could keep the plane from crashing. Five people were injured, but with the exception of Heinze, the other five sustained minor injuries.
Sixty-five year old Heinze was immediately taken to a hospital, but they then decided that her injuries needed to be treated at a bigger hospital. Heinze died before making it to the second hospital.
Small aviation accidents happen rather often. The reasons for the crashes vary from weather to poor maintenance. The cause for this particular plane accident is still unknown.
Being in a plane crash can be extremely frightening. In many cases, there are deaths or permanent injuries that have been suffered. Should you ever survive a plane crash or if you have a loved one in Alaska who has suffered due to one, call an Anchorage accident attorney. They are very knowledgeable of aviation accidents and what causes them.
