  • Nineteen year old Ashley Hecox was driving down Parks Highway as a moose was crossing back and forth in front of her car and driving path. She hit the moose and another vehicle and was pronounced dead on the scene when officials arrived to the scene of this horrific and tragic auto accident.

After Hecox had hit the moose, her Colbalt headed into the other lane. She collided with a tractor pulling several trailers and her car began to spin out of control until it stopped on the shoulder of the highway.

The driver of the tractor was uninjured. Hecox died as a result of the accident and a statement was released that said she was not wearing her seatbelt.

The accident still remains under investigation at this time. Hecox’s body is being prepped for autopsy at the state Medical Examiner’s Office.

Animals often become the cause of an accident. Many people will break for animals which causes for the person driving behind them to collide with their vehicle due to the sudden stop. However, in Hecox’s case, she collided with the massive animal which made her lose control of her vehicle.

If you have been in an accident similar to this one, call an Anchorage accident attorney.  It’s always best to seek medical attention first, then call Attorney Elliott T. Dennis right away.
