Pileups happen often, usually as the result of a traffic stop. However, this pileup occurred when 34 year old Michael Jenkins’ vehicle drove over the center line on the Glenn Highway and struck two other cars. The two vehicles struck, were driving in the opposite direction than Jenkins.
The accident left Jenkins dead and several others injured. Investigators are still investigating and Jenkins body is being prepped for autopsy. It is uncertain if drugs or alcohol had anything to do with the accident.
Vehicle pile ups don’t always end in death. The most common type of pile up accident is usually a result of traffic stops. However, in this case, Jenkins caused the pile up by veering out of his lane.
