An Alaskan logger died on Saturday while working on the Prince of Wales Island in Southeast Alaska.
Bill Worley, 36, was working in the lumberyard when a log about 70ft fell from the logging cradle and struck him directly from above. It killed Worley instantly.
Worley was attempting to secure the bundle of logs with wire when the log fell from the top of the pile.
There is no reason for troopers to believe that drugs, alcohol or foul play had anything to do with the workplace accident.
Logging jobs are very dangerous. There is always the opportunity for something to go wrong, just as in Worley’s accident. The equipment used can cause injury just as well as any of the logs that are cut down. It is imperative that all safety precautions are taken when working in the logging industry.
Anchorage accident lawyers understand the opportunity for a work related accident to occur, especially in the logging and fishing industries, in which Alaska is known for. This is why they will be there for legal representation and guidance if you were to ever suffer from an injury. Just set up a consultation to see if you are eligible for compensation.
