  • An Anchorage safety officer was taken to the hospital after he crashed into a minivan last week.

Robert Sternberg was working as he drove his Anchorage Water and Waste-water Utility SUV down Jewel Lake Road. According to officials, Sternberg had fallen asleep which had caused his run in with the minivan.

Sternberg had suffered from a ruptured spleen and was admitted into the hospital. As for the driver and a four year old girl that were in the minivan, they suffered from more minor injuries.
