This year has brought upon a whole lot of ATV accidents around the U.S. Some of them have even resulted in death. ATVs or All-Terrain Vehicles need to be used wisely and with caution, otherwise an accident can easily happen.
In June, in Alaska, a woman hit a minor while on an ATV then fled the scene. The minor had suffered serious injury that may result in permanent damage. Twenty year old, Lilly Yupanik is now facing serious charges for not stopping to aid the minor she struck in the accident.
In Indiana, 19 year old Rokas Cesnulevicius, a college basketball player was riding an ATV when it rolled-over after turning sharply. As a result of the accident, Cesnulevicius broke his jaw and isn’t able to return to basketball until 6 weeks after his surgery which was performed on June 16.
Yet, in another ATV accident in Indiana, a 14 year old boy unfortunately died when he lost control of his ATV and was flown from the vehicle. The boy was accompanied by a passenger who sustained minor injuries.
The above referenced ATV accidents are a few of many crashes that happened this year. However, it makes apparent how dangerous ATVs can be when they’re not operated properly or with caution. Should you become the victim of an ATV accident because of another person’s carelessness, call an Anchorage accident attorney if you’d like to seek compensation for your losses.
