In Ketchikan, Alaska on Monday, November 19, 2012, a tragic accident occurred on the South Tongass Highway. The motor vehicle accident left two dead and two others seriously injured.
The single vehicle happened after the vehicle had veered off the road and hit a rock embankment. The impact of the crash left the driver, thirty one year old April Arland and sixteen year old Kiana Seierup dead immediately. The other two passengers, sixteen year old Christine Demmert and fourteen year old Royce Trout were flown to the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage for treatment. Their current condition is unknown.
Investigators continue to investigate the accident and are waiting on toxicology reports to see if alcohol played a role in the fatal accident.
